It’s the first subscription-based Windows service to provide a new method to access a full-featured Windows OS from anywhere on a laptop, desktop, or even a smartphone. The new Microsoft service makes the notion of a cloud PC a reality, and it comes at a time when businesses are shifting to a mix of office and remote work as a result of the epidemic. Windows 365 is designed to allow users to access cloud PCs by streaming a version of Windows 10 or Windows 11 to any device with an active internet connection via a native app or web browser.
Features of Windows 365
Users will be able to access their personalized apps, data, tools, and settings from the cloud on any device, including a Mac, iPad, Linux, or Android, thanks to Windows 365’s “instant-on boot experience.” Users will be able to access the service while switching between multiple devices thanks to the cloud integration and the Windows experience will be consistent regardless of device.
The cloud PC, according to Microsoft, is meant to address some of today’s most pressing security issues by utilizing Zero Trust architecture. It includes multi-factor authentication, which uses Microsoft Azure Active Directory integration to explicitly validate each login or access attempt to a Cloud PC.
Particular rights such as licensing, device management, and cloud PC administration can also be delegated using specific roles in the cloud PC service. Microsoft also says that all managed drives used to run cloud PCs are encrypted, that all stored data is secured at rest, and that all network traffic to and from Windows 365-based cloud PCs is encrypted.
Windows 365 Pricing
Windows 365 will be available in two flavors: Windows 365 Business and Windows 365 Enterprise, according to Microsoft. On August 2, the cloud PC platform will be accessible. Microsoft has unintentionally disclosed one cost option, $31 per month per user, even though the firm has yet to reveal the rates for the subscription choices.
Two CPUs with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage will be available from Microsoft. The Windows 365 Business setup has this pricing option. This isn’t the cheapest option, though, since the business will also sell a single CPU with only 2GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.
